PUBG’s creator says his next game will be a blockchain video game

Brendan Greene, the creator of PUBG, has announced his next video game, a blockchain-powered virtual world title. Throughout a discussion with Hit Points, this 45-year-old video game maker disclosed that NFTs, the virtual world, and cryptocurrency would be featured in his upcoming video game, Artemis.

He clarified that Artemis would function as a framework that they could contribute to the upkeep of. But it’s a tool everyone can use, and anyone could host a little bit of oneself. According to reports, Artemis will allow players to create whatever they want as a component of a vast, open environment. However, it appears that the proposal will now include blockchain technology.

Greene clarified that he was captivated by digital environments, establishments with no actual regulations but a set of processes that can be used. That intrigued him, and it continues to do so. He hasn’t ever considered simply leaving.

Blockchain is frequently marketed as a form for gamers to participate in creating a video game. Still, several developers have expressed opposition to it, with Minecraft, for example, outright prohibiting the application of NFTs or cryptocurrency.

Greene continues to insist that Artemis does not revolve around profit. He stated that this occurs solely because it is created for all rather than profit. He did, nevertheless, affirm that gamers will have the ability to profit from their designs by marketing in-game products to other gamers.

Standing tall despite the criticism

Notwithstanding the wariness, Greene asserts he’ll keep going. He stated that he would do what he would do. But it makes no difference what it’s called. Whatever you want to consider, he doesn’t care. Greene isn’t the first programmer to venture into the virtual world. Bandai Namco recently revealed a $130M investment in an eventual virtual world venture. Not to acknowledge Epic Games or LEGO collaborating on a kid-friendly virtual world venture.

How the Artemis virtual world will come to fruition is still to be determined. However, including NFTs or cryptocurrency is unlikely to triumph over the critiques.

The virtual world is a framework that combines networking sites, online video games, virtual reality, augmented reality, and cryptos to enable users to interact digitally. Gamers previously engaged in other video gaming genres, like multiplayer, commonly shift their focus to the virtual world. In the long term, the Metaverse will likely allow corporate events, training sessions, digital entertainment, and possibly web-based teaching.

Game publishers, tech titans, and venture capitalists have all invested significantly in the virtual world. Decentraland was one of the first businesses to attempt to create a virtual world for online multiplayer. Sandbox seems to be a video game that allows you to play, generate, possess, and regulate a virtual world.
