NFT video game advisor said poor individuals might be NPCs

As per one video game advisor, players from underdeveloped nations could operate as NPCs in the worlds of wealthier gamers. According to Mikhai Kossar, a financial consultant and part of WolvesDAO, with the low labor costs of a third-world country, you can use individuals within the Philippine islands as actual NPCs in the video game. According to Kossar, gamers from underdeveloped nations could fill up the world by doing random jobs or simply walking back and forth, catching fish, sharing tales, being store owners, or anything else.

The task of WolvesDAO, according to the affiliation online application, is to provide the distributed ledgers video game industry with meaningful findings, training, and resources to develop future video games and community members.  That perspective community, it appears, could be dark and depressing.

Some people believe that having actual human beings all over the world roleplay as robot NPCs is inhumane. According to Andy Chalk, a long-time game reporter, individuals strive to see how rich and powerful Westerners could put Third World residents to constructive use. It’s a heinous idea, flawlessly in keeping with the NFT industry and the legal definition of enslavement.

It also expresses concern about the morality of Web3 video games, as intellectuals in underdeveloped nations are already participating in play-to-earn crypto video games with NFTs most of them cannot afford to have. At the same time, NFT holders reap a share of the revenue.

The possibility of consciousness and the morality of using NPCs as expendable beings has long been investigated in speculative fiction, most recently in the HBO Westworld and the 2021 Ryan Reynolds’ Hollywood comedy film Free Guy.

A more positive perspective

However, starting to play an NPC isn’t always a dark and violent experience. Video game players on Grand Theft Auto V’s roleplay server farms, such as NoPixel, now also function as protagonists in multiple roles in the digital world. They’re successfully serving as NPCs for no money in return, whether as a bartender, a stripper, or a mechanic. Some RP systems are strongly moderated, with waiting lists of eager participants.

When it relates to paid virtual world work opportunities, there is also a plethora of digital jobs available in games, such as Roblox, that do not rely on virtual currency. However, some argue that Roblox’s barely legal founders are manipulated and do not receive their merit salaries.

As virtual worlds enter the industry, a whole innovative realm of career opportunities may emerge. However, some positions are bound to start raising more questions than others.
