Fractal Gaming NFT Marketplace Expands To Polygon Network

Fractal stands as a game-related NFT platform that was developed by Justin Kan, co-founder of Twitch. Fractal had recently expanded its offerings by adding the Polygon Network to its platform in a bid to boost its accessibility.

A Brand New Addition To Both Networks

It was back in December of 2021 when the network first launched, doing so on the Solana blockchain. Back then, the platform managed to accrue $35 million in investments, doing so via a seed round involving big names like Solana labs, Coinbase Ventures, Animoca, and Andreessen Horowitz, among others. As it stands now, the platform hosts a range of NFTs, Web3 games, and even tournaments on its site. To help new developers, Fractal also offers a development tool suite to make the onboarding process easier.

Fractal made this announcement via a press release, going as far as to say that expanding into the Polygon Network will help further its goals in user acquisition. Further benefits listed in the press release are the integration will allow for successful game development thanks to the financial infrastructure and blockchain tooling provided by Polygon Network. A launchpad based on the Polygon Network is already in its F Studio product suite. Other new features include tournaments, marketplaces, game launchers, Fractal Service sign-ins, and Developer SDK.

Polygon Investing Into Fractal

Polygon Ventures, the company behind the Ethereum scaling system, has made an exciting announcement themselves. The announcement is regarding a strategic investment they had made into Fractal itself, though what it is remains unspecified. The only detail is that this investment will be for the goal of expanding Fractal’s services. Already, thirty of the biggest games on the Polygon Network will set out to work with Fractal. This will help develop activations leading up to March’s Game Developer Conference, as well as develop a few tournaments for the new partnership.

Robin Chan stands as the co-founder of Fractal, and gave a public statement about the network as a whole. Robin explained that the goal for Fractal is the relentless support of developers in the Web3 space, trying to provide them with everything for what Robin says will be the future of gaming. Robin went further, highlighting that the platform was developed with the experiences and learnings Justin had garnered with his time working in Twitch.

Keeping To Common Trends

With this move, the Polygon Network will gain a range of benefits, as well. The most apparent benefits come from the fact that a brand new array of major companies and projects has now been added to its ecosystem. In the past, Polygon has already partnered up with big names such as Starbucks, Nike, and Reddit. Polygon even has enough pull to lure away projects from other networks, as what happened with formerly Solana’s Y00ts project. The platform managed to pull this off thanks to a hefty grant given to Y00ts last month, to the tune of $3 million, to be exact.

Time will tell how this partnership unfolds, but Web3 is clearly in a stage of momentous growth. In time, it could very well become the mainstream of gaming platforms.
