Epic Games Store will not inhibit programmers from distributing NFTs

Upon declaring last year that NFT games would be bought by Epics shop, Epics CEO Tim Sweeney came out strongly again regarding Epic games‘ approach to NFTs. Responding to Minecraft’s latest NFT prohibition, another Twitter account holder chastised Epic Games, particularly its CEO, for declaring an equivalent pronouncement and removing any video game utilizing blockchain-based games from Epic Games Store. The Chairman, Tim Sweeney, concluded his point by stating that Epic Games will not restrict purchases of titles here on Epic Games Store to individuals who do not own blockchain new tech.

It is worth noting that, whereas Minecraft is indeed an extensive IP with many simple, compact games, it is a cohesive brand established by Mojang. Also, the Chairman of Epic Games must have been alluding to third-party units marketed in Epic Games Store, not only Epic Games’ video games. NFT Worlds, a business that offers Minecraft seedlings, stated how NFT Worlds is designing a novel game and system that constructs on such fundamental dynamics of their own Minecraft. Yet, Minecraft was already lacking for years due to modernization and strenuous improvement.

Early last month, Minecraft development company Mojang explicitly prohibited all NFT systems from everything linked to their video game, reiterating that NFT inclusion in Minecraft is not broadly supported or authorized. The uncertain essence of NFTs, their scarcity, risk of becoming left out, or potential forgery was inconsistent with Minecraft’s fundamental beliefs.

What is NFT Worlds planning now?

The founders of NFT Worlds also remained steadfast, releasing a claim on Friday stating that they too will create their own Minecraft contenders now that they’ve been banned from conducting business inside Minecraft, incorporating the video game API, and constructing NFTs based on Minecraft programmer Mojang IP. Mojang Studios released a statement saying it will shortly restrict the utilization of NFTs on the community-run Minecraft gaming platform.

In a subsequent Twitter update, Epic Games’ CEO reaffirmed Epic Games’ former stance, tweeting that developers must be capable of deciding how to construct their video games, and we can determine if we play those. He believes shops and running system developers should refrain from interfering by imposing their opinions on others. He most emphatically will not. Epic Games has become very forthright regarding its stance on NFTs, whereas Steam has forbidden NFT titles from its launch pad.
