Epic Games has provided funding to Grease Monkey game

Epic Games had also raised funds for Grease Monkey Games, an Australian individual game designer and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, to generate Torque Drift 2, a unique blockchain-based motor racing competitive match. Per the Fortnite founders, the Epic MegaGrant would be used to construct a motor racing game centered on swerving. Epic Games’ three-dimensional computer visuals game motor, identified as Unreal Engine, has been employed in a variety of fields ever since its opening in their 1998 video game Unreal.

As per Animoca Brands, Epic’s MegaGrant, which ranges from a scope of 5,000$ up to half a million dollars, will be employed to develop a realistic gameplay experience similar to several other triple-A video games that also employ the famous Unreal Engine. Grease Monkey Games is developing a play-to-earn video game, so Epic Games’ investment is substantial as a gesture of solidarity from the traditional gaming world, which has commonly opposed blockchain videogames.

Torque Drift 2 would be entirely released in 2024, with gamers gaining access to an optimization garage beginning in the third quarter of 2022. Gamers can personalize their motor and characteristic using NFT elements, vehicles, stickers, and other in-game items. Torque Drift 2 also allows gamers to create their paint jobs and vehicle tweaking NFTs, which will then be disclosed and auctioned.

Are blockchain games too dull?

Grease Monkey Games is a traditional gaming company that started releasing original IP games in 2014. This has more than 45 million uploads globally. Animoca Brands bought them last February, and Animoca might help them transform into blockchain video games. Integrating blockchain authenticated NFTs into video games is viewed as a way to give gamers digital possession over in-game items, as opposed to conventional games where gamers generally buy in-game items with actual cash but are then barred from removing that money afterward. Consequently, users can exchange their goods for newer models or distribute them when they quit playing.

People involved in P2E designs receive a financial benefit for their environmental involvement. Many critics of P2E video games, such as Udi Wertheimer, argue that they are less entertaining than mainstream games and require wallets and virtual currency transactions before players can start playing.
