Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins ventures into Web3

The founder of Electronic Arts Games, Trip Hawkins, has announced that he is venturing into the Web3 industry. Hawkins is venturing into Web3 through his new company known as “Games For A Living.” The new company has tapped blockchain technology, and it has officially been launched on Seedify.

EA Games founder ventures into Web3

Games for a Living has announced a partnership deal with Seedify and other platforms like Bit2Me and Enjinstarter for an Initial Game Offering (IGO). This IGO will also list centralized and decentralized exchanges such as PancakeSwap, BitMart, and Gate.io.

This listing will be done on March 13, 2023, with the public sale for the GFAL token being rolled out on March 9 and March 10. GFAL is one of the largest gaming and non-fungible token (NFT) incubators and launchpads in the blockchain and Web3 sectors.

The partnerships secured by Games For a Living are strategic for the company because they will offer innovative funding, partnerships, and support growth for the entire ecosystem, where Web3 games will be more accessible to the community and the larger market.

Hawkins is the name behind this gaming company, and besides being the co-founder, he will also be the chief strategy officer at the company. He is a major player in Silicon Valley, with his main role being at Electronic Arts.

Hawkins also played a major role at EA Sports, producing some of the company’s top games, such as Madden Football. He has also worked at other Fortune 500 companies giving him a solid presence in the sector.

Robust fundamentals

Besides Hawkins, Games For a Living will also benefit from the expertise brought by Manel Sort, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer. The two previously worked together at Digital Chocolate. Sort comes with a high level of experience in the gaming industry, with an impressive portfolio of over 60 titles.

While working at Activision Blizzard King and King Barcelona Studios, Sort’s titles generated over $1 million daily. He has also provided access to models and strategies needed to support the marketing plans and the gameplay experiences of top games like Candy Crush.

The other member of the GFAL team is Javier Leon, an Emmy Award Nominee. The team also comprises game industry experts like Christian Gonsens and Marc Tormo. This impressive team could make Games For a Living a top player in Web3 gaming.

The first game released by this company will go live on the Steam marketplace. However, this game has not integrated blockchain technology and is also free to play. The listing of GFAL on exchanges is the first step towards bringing this game into the Web3 world.

The past few years have seen some of the largest video game publishers venturing into Web3, and Hawkins and Sort are the latest entrants who will guarantee that this industry achieves success. After this platform ventures into the NFT and blockchain gaming sector, it will be a significant milestone.
