Artificial Intelligence to be used In-game says Take-Two Interactive

Take-Two Interactive, The highly praised publisher of powerhouse franchises such as Civilization, Borderlands, and Grand Theft Auto, has been studying the best possible way to utilize the power of AI in its process of development. While being questioned by investors, Zelnick expressed his passion about the potential of AI but the role of it being used as a tool continues.

Strauss Zelnick, the Chief Executive Officer of Take-Two Interactive, also commented on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the gaming industry. He was very cautious about the future of AI in the gaming industry, despite the progress made so far. While he appreciates the ability of AI in increasing the productivity of game development, Zelnick firmly believes that the distinctive spark of human game developers cannot be replaced by AI.

Zelnick Says The Human Element Still Remains Unique

While Take-Two is looking to lead the incorporation of AI in the gaming industry, Zelnick sees it as an efficient enhancement tool. He suggested that the ability of AI to make things easier in the game development process can be a game-changer. He urges that despite this, in producing hit games, the human element remains unique.

Zelnick’s remarks echo the belief of the former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment and current head of its Independent Development Initiative, Shuhei Yoshida. He also views AI as a development tool, a way of producing “more beautiful things.”

There is controversy in the integration of AI within the gaming industry. And there are worries that human jobs may be replaced by AI are prevailing. Squanch Games was criticized last year for making use of AI art generation software to generate game artwork. In addition, veteran voice actor Troy Baker had to withdraw from collaboration with a company that produces non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of actors’ voices using AI. Its position in the gaming world continues to be the topic of intense argument.
