Web3 gaming platform InfiniGods launches its first game

Web3 gaming studio InfiniGods has announced the release of InfiniMerge. The latter is a free-to-play merge game focused on building and adventure. InfiniMerge will be the first game released by InfiniGods.

InfiniGods releases the first game

InfiniMerge was released last year after a $9 million seed funding round that attracted investors such as Animoca Brands, Framework Ventures, and Pantera Capital.

InfiniGods is a Web3 gaming studio founded by veterans in the social and mobile industries, Owen O’Donoghue, a former Director of Gaming at Facebook, and Damon Gura, the former CEO of DGN Games.

InfiniMerge has already completed the beta phase and attracted over 1000 players. The game has a commendable day-one retention rate of over 40%, while its seven-day retention rate stands at 10%. The team behind the game has noted that the project boasts a higher retention rate than other puzzle games, with NFT holders spending more time on the game than non-NFT holders. The company’s success can also be attributed to the beginning of its cooperation with casino El Royal.

Gura, the CEO of InfiniGods, opined that “Merge games are popular for their simple mechanics and straightforward progression, and InfiniMerge combines all this with Web3 elements like digital collectibles and play-to-own rewards.” Gura added that Web3 gaming could achieve its full potential if games were accessible and fun.

The early metrics of InfiniGods show that gamers who took part in the recent Elder Gods NFT drop have a high return rate than non-NFT holders. Players can generate in-game power-ups that can be used for gameplay or trading with other players. The game’s player-driven economy has seen more than 100 NFTs being minted and sold during the first two weeks.

Boosting community engagement

InfiniMerge has also focused on improving community engagement. The game has a dedicated Discord support channel that allows developers to detect bugs and implement improvements depending on the community’s feedback.

O’Donoghue said that in the Web2 gaming sector, community feedback took a long time to be implemented, but in the Web3 sector, feedback from players can be integrated in real-time, which greatly benefits the community. The co-founder added that adopting detailed feedback from the players of the game has allowed the platform to improve gameplay.

InfiniGods also recently launched Community Merge, where a popular project is selected each quarter to be developed as a playable experience on InfiniMerge. Wolf Game has been released as the first playable Community Merge level.

InfiniGods is focused on creating fun, free-to-play Web3 games centered around ancient civilizations and mythologies. The company’s goal is to ensure Web3 gaming becomes accessible and enjoyable. The platform allows players to win gameplay rewards when they participate or level up.
