Spells of Genesis unveils NFT History Museum on the Cryptovoxels metaverse

Spells of Genesis (SoG) marked its fifth anniversary on Thursday. Spells of Genesis is referred to as the pioneer of play-to-earn blockchain gaming. The game will be commemorating this fifth anniversary by launching an NFT History Museum.

Spells of Genesis celebrates the fifth anniversary

EverdreamSoft is the gaming studio behind Spells of Genesis. The company distributed the first non-fungible tokens (NFTs) trading cards in 2015. However, the mobile trading card game for the platform went live much later in 2017.

To celebrate this fifth anniversary, EverdreamSoft has announced the launch of an NFT History Museum. The museum will operate on the CryptoVoxels metaverse and debut on April 20. The virtual museum will comprise new and vintage SoG cards and assets from various NFT collections.

The Spells of Genesis blockchain game integrates a trading card game hosting a point and shoot arcade gameplay. Players in the game must collect and combine cards to develop the strongest team to fight enemies. The game allows players to earn cryptocurrencies.

The NFT Museum will feature the original cards from the inception of this collection. One vintage card will be selected and displayed on the museum’s rooftop every month. Users that select the displayed card will go to the Spells of Genesis showroom. The showroom is used as a gateway to support people to learn about the history of blockchain gaming.

The company has also added that the NFT museum will be under development for several months and that it will be comprised of collections of different projects that have supported the growth of the digital asset sector.

The CEO of EverdreamSoft, Shaban Shaame, noted that the NFT History Museum would support some of the most advanced NFT projects in the sector. The museum will also be used to display other assets such as the Bitcoin Genesis Block, the Nakamoto card from the RAREPEPE Series 1 and collectibles from an old game dubbed Etheria.

Other collections from notable crypto projects such as Cryptopunks, Mooncats and Axie Infinity will be showcased. Users will also get a special discount on the month’s card, while one lucky participant from those who signed the NFT Museum guestbook in April will receive a Spells of Genesis card from 2017.

The popularity of Spells of Genesis

The Spells of Genesis game has witnessed significant growth in popularity over the past year. The game is now attracting an even wider user base, and its resurging popularity comes as the play-to-earn blockchain gaming sector continues to witness growing adoption.

SoG was exclusively minted on the Bitcoin blockchain during the early years through an early blockchain protocol dubbed Counterparty. In 2020, the game became compatible with the Ethereum blockchain, and it witnessed a surge in sales.

By launching this museum, Spells of Genesis will be achieving its vision of having the rare SoG trading cards displayed on a platform that allows these products to be displayed for the entire world to see.
