Online Messaging App LINE Has Rolled Out A Web3-Based Platform

Online messaging platform Line has announced plans to enter the Web3 space via its LINE NEXT subsidiary. According to the announcement, the company will be launching a new platform it calls Game Dosi, positioned for Blockchain technology and Web3.

The Platform Wants To Introduce Web3 Games To LINE Users

LINE’s business leader, Kiwoong Han, stated that the company aims to introduce new games to Line users, expanding the Web3 gaming space in the process.

Game Dosi wants to attract gamers to the platform using development kits that are easy to use. This will enable the quick release of the Web3 games and ensure more competition among gamers.  Developers will be reducing the requirements needed for game development using the resources the platform has provided.

LINE is one of the tech firms that have been showing high interest in the Web3 space. Other tech firms and game developers in Asia have also shown serious interest. These include giants like Konami, Sony, and NCSoft, as they try to enter the Web3 space. LINE is a very popular chat service in Japan. The company has an intensive reach, which is an advantage that eludes the other game publishers that are competing in the same market.

LINE NEXT started operations late last year. But it has gained a serious user base following its entry into the NFT space. While companies like Twitter have NFTs isolated to its platform, Line Next was launched to stay within the larger NFT space.

LINE Will Have Regular Regulatory Checks On The Platform

Blockchain and other crypto-related technologies are often subjected to intense high scrutiny, especially when it comes to a country’s regulation. Meeting up with these regulations on cryptocurrencies and Web3 has been part of the overall business strategy of Game Dosi. The company intends to meet up with the regulations and continue building trust with both users and regulators.

Game Dosi is also looking to have regular regulation checks as well as risk guides from time to time. This will continue as long as it keeps releasing games to avoid any interference with its businesses. But Game Dosi has a very big hurdle, which is to convince those who have not yet bought into the NFT market. Both developers and players are still showing some level of hostility to the technology’s relevance in games.
