Louis Vuitton Set To Release NFTs To Act As Access Pass To Future Products

French luxury brand, Louis Vuitton, is growing its presence in the blockchain and Web3 industry. The company has now announced the release of a new collection of NFTs known as “Treasure Trunks.” This collection will give the owners access to future products and experiences. Each piece of these collectibles has been priced at €39,000.

Louis Vuitton to release €39,000 NFTs

The launch of these NFTs is part of a new project by the company known as “Via.” These NFTs will give the holders access to products and experiences that will not be available to others. This exclusivity explains the value at which these NFTs have been priced.

NFTs have become increasingly popular over the past few years, and they have been incorporated across different industries, including fashion and luxury. Louis Vuitton is using Via as a new chapter that will enable the company to grow and reward the NFT community.

These NFTs will be available to customers based un the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan. These users can register through a waiting list on a dedicated website that will be launched on June 8. The users can then link their crypto wallets to purchase these NFTs.

On June 14, Louis Vuitton will launch a private webpage where it will invite the selected participants to access a private webpage. On June 16, the luxury brand will then invite these participants to buy the Treasure Trunks NFTs through the Via platform.

These NFTs cannot be sold or transferred to another person, which maintains the exclusivity of the project. The holders can also purchase “keys” periodically to unlock access to more products. The first batch of the available products that will be available to holders will be revealed in mid-June, after which they will be revealed only to Treasury Trunks holders.

Louis Vuitton makes strides in the NFT space

Louis Vuitton has made several strides to grow its presence in the NFT industry. The luxury brand tapped the services of one of the early celebrity NFT endorsers Pharrell William earlier this year. Williams currently serves as the new men’s creative director at the company and could play a strategic role in the firm‘s NFT plans.

In recent years, Louis Vuitton has expanded into the blockchain space through different projects. In March 2019, the parent company, LVMH, announced plans to launch the Aura blockchain to assist in tracking luxury goods. In April 2021, the luxury brand unveiled a partnership deal with Cartier and Prada for the Aura Blockchain Consortium to assist in cracking down against counterfeit products.

In August 2021, Louis Vuitton dipped its toes into the Web3 gaming industry with the release of Louis the Game. Louis the Game is a free-to-play experience that was launched in August 2021 with the goal of educating players on the history of the company and rewarding the successful players with an opportunity to win one of the 30 free digital postcards that are available on the platform.
