Logan Paul threatens to sue Coffeezilla over CryptoZoo scam allegations

Logan Paul has threatened to sue YouTuber Coffeezilla over scam allegations surrounding the CryptoZoo non-fungible token (NFT) game. Paul is accusing Coffeezilla of defamation for alleging that he duped those who invested in CryptoZoo.

Logan Paul threatens to sue Coffeezilla

Logan Paul and Coffeezilla have been engaged in an online spat because of the CryptoZoo project. On December 17, Coffeezilla, whose real name is Stephen Findeisen, released the first part of a three-part investigation into CryptoZoo and Paul, the face of this NFT game.

Coffeezilla said CryptoZoo was intended to be a fun blockchain game where players could earn money. However, investors ended up losing millions of dollars worth of investments as the game was yet to be in a playable state.

Paul recently responded to the allegations made by Coffeezilla. He released a YouTube video on January 4 saying that Coffeezilla wanted to “monetize a narrative telling millions of people that I’m a fraud or I tried to scam my audience.”

Paul also said that Coffeezilla made these allegations against him without proper investigations, verifying any background information, or substantiating the provided evidence. He added that Coffezilla believed the words that multiple criminals spoke, and he broke the law by publishing defamation.

Controversial CryptoZoo NFT game

CryptoZoo is an NFT game where the players can become “Zookeepers” and purchase NFT eggs using the game’s native cryptocurrency, ZOO. These eggs would be hatched into animals that could be bred into hybrid animals. The players could trade these hybrids to generate ZOO tokens.

Paul was a big promoter of this NFT game. In August 2021, he described the game as a fun way for people to earn money. He also said that the art that would make up the game would be “handmade” by ten artists over six months.

The hybrids that CryptoZoo promised investors were also part of the investigations done by Coffeezilla. The YouTuber said the art was “a bunch of stock photos from Adobe that have been poorly photoshopped.”

There are also speculations that the project could have been halted. The CryptoZoo blog has not released any new content since April last year. However, Paul said that the development of CryptoZoo was not halted and that the team would continue building the project. Paul shared a teaser of the game, saying it would be released in 2023/2024.

Paul has been a major player in the crypto and NFT sectors since 2021. However, this is not the first controversy he has faced. In July 2021, Coffeezilla accused Paul of promoting a fake crypto token called Dink Doink (DINK).
