Japanese Gaming Giant Konami Hunts For Talents For New NFT Project

The NFT and Web3 space has expanded over the past few years, as many companies register their interest to take advantage of its growing popularity.

Now, Japanese video game giant Konami has announced its plans to join the NFT space. It recently announced job openings to expand its offerings into the NFT, Web3, and Metaverse platforms. According to the announcement, Konami is looking for experienced hands for service development and system construction. The company noted that its services will be needed for its plans to develop Metaverse and Web3 platforms.

Additionally, Konami revealed that it is planning to incorporate its latest gaming technology, which is now in the research and development phase.

Konami To Also Launch NFT Trading Platform

Konami also said it is planning to launch an NFT trading platform for players, which will allow players to easily trade their in-game digital items.

The company has advertised several job positions as it looks to fill up positions for the new NFT and metaverse project. These positions include system engineers, project managers, programmers, and directors. Successful applicants will be given an environment on the digital item distribution platform. According to the job posting, the platform will meet the requirements and guidelines for blockchain games.

Konami’s Venture Into The NFT Space

This is not the first time Konami is venturing into NFT. In January this year, the company rolled out an NFT collection to celebrate the anniversary of its Castlevania franchise. But it will be the first time it’s seeking to develop a blockchain-based platform for its gaming technology.

Konami is known for publishing Revolution, Dance Dance, Fogger, the Metal Gear Solid franchise, and Castlevania. But as technology advances, the company is making advancements toward the metaverse as the space expands rapidly.

Some traditional gaming companies have had unsuccessful launches of their games in the NFT space. Ubisoft’s Quartz platform received severe criticism from gamers earlier this year. The gamers reacted to statements credited to Nicolas Pouard, the vice president of Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab, claiming that they don’t understand the full benefits of NFTs. Other gamers believed that Ubisoft’s venture into the space is only a money grab move.
