Is Apple Gradually Warning Up To The NFT Space?

The 33rd edition of Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is coming up on June 6. And like other conferences, there are speculations and expectations of what the company has to offer.

However, a recent report by MacRumors has suggested that Apple may be considering NFT-based trading cards. These can enable users to view in augmented reality, which has increased the rumor that the tech giant may introduce NFTs in the future.

Apple Consistently Uses Memojis

Apple has always used Memojis in its marketing strategy. But this year, the company has decided to include augmented reality (AR), which will be a slight twist and a welcome development for NFT enthusiasts.

The cards also look similar to animated cards of Gary Vaynerchuk’s VeeFriends Series 2 and avatars of RTFKT Studios’ CloneX and animated cards. As a result, there have been increased speculations of the future possibilities of an Apple NFT.

The cards are kept on the surface using an AR interface, enabling users to easily open them and view a wide range of colorful Memoji faces. Once the user swipes it, they can be taken back to the card’s initial interface and see other viewing options.

Once the user opens the card pack, they are offered three separate card options. But there are additional 6 card options they can choose from. It should be noted that the latest card design is one of the most comprehensive interactive AR experiences that Apple has designed for an event it is organizing. Other events have only featured inspired Apple logos, according to MacRumors.

More Products To Be Unveiled At The Conference

Apple is also expected to make several new announcements while presenting the keynote address at the event. Some of them include improvements on watchOS, iPadOS, and iOS. Additionally, Apple has provided an avenue for users looking to attend the WWDC 2022 event by providing a live streaming link.

Apple could also debut some other products at the event, including a new Mac Pro or a new HomePod, the upcoming M2 chip, as well as a new MacBook Air.  Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook, revealed in December that he is a crypto investor and owns digital assets.
