ImmutableX is expanding its partnership deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports. ImmutableX will provide the blockchain infrastructure needed to create the company’s mobile web3 game, Blocklete Golf.

Blocklete Golf is a mobile web3 game created by Warner Bros. Discovery Sports. Players can collect, train, and trade unique non-fungible tokens in this game. The digital collectibles in this game are virtual golfers represented in the form of NFTs.

The vice president of global business development at Immutable, Andrew Sorokovsky, said, “We are honored to be a partner and provider of the blockchain infrastructure for an innovator in the sports media landscape like Warner Bros. Discovery and Turner Sports.”

Sorokovsky added that the company was dedicated to supporting the growth and the early adoption of the web3 sector. He noted that the dedication of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports in the Web3 industry showed that decentralized solutions were gaining mass adoption. Web3 technology provided a unique way through which people could interact with various forms of entertainment while retaining ownership over their digital assets.

Blocklete Golf P2E game

Blocklete Golf is a mobile golf game seeking to provide the best interactions. In this game, the players can choose a golfer and then play on dynamic courses in tournaments and matchups. The game also uses a play-to-earn model, which could be the key to gaining adoption, as P2E games have attracted much interest in recent years.

The P2E model used by Blocklete Golf differs from other models used in other games. The players collect, train, and trade their unique NFT-based avatars in the game. The avatars can also be used to compete alongside other players.

The players in this game have a chance to manage their Web3 athletes, known as Blockletes. They can later achieve their objectives when they increase the attribute levels of every player, which has a notable impact on utility and value depending on a player’s in-game performance.

This game was initially created on the Flow blockchain and used by one of the top NFT collections, NBA Top Shot. However, Blocklete Golf will be migrating from Flow to Immutable X to leverage the network’s fast transactions and low cost NFT minting process. The game also wants to tap into the robust infrastructure and security offered by Ethereum.

The extension of the partnership between ImmutableX and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports follows the recent release of a trivia and fan loyalty program on the platform. The program happens every week during the “Inside the NBA” show.

Warner Bros. Discovery Sports believes that Immutable was a natural choice for the company because it offered an efficient and inclusive decentralized framework. The company noted that Blocklete Golf was its newest Web3 offering that would rely upon Immutable’s backend infrastructure.

ImmutableX has created a solid presence for itself in the Web3 industry, and earlier this week, it had announced that it was inching closer toward releasing its Unity software development kit (SDK).
