Illuvium gains 35% this week amid a series of positive developments

Illuvium, a non-fungible token (NFT) gaming platform running on the Ethereum blockchain, has gained by around 35% in the last seven days. ILV’s gains come amid a series of new updates surrounding the gaming project.

ILV pumps amid updates on Illuvium

Illuvium has become one of the largest gaming projects in the Ethereum ecosystem. The project’s native token, ILV, is a low cap crypto that ranks as the 191 largest cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of around $194 million, according to CoinGecko.

In the last seven days, ILV has traded between $87 and $95. At the time of writing, the token was trading at $89. The token shows signs of pulling back, with a 1.6% drop in the last 24 hours. Despite the recent gains, ILV is down by 95% from its all-time high created in November 2021.

ILV has benefited from the market support that has been in play since the beginning of the year. In the last 30 days, the token has gained by 126%. However, some of the recent gains could also be attributed to the positive developments within the Illuvium ecosystem.

Developments within the Illuvium ecosystem

Illuvium started the year with the expansion of its gaming ecosystem. In January, the company released the alpha version of the third game, Illuvium: Zero. This game revolves around land development and construction, and it is available on both mobile and desktop. Last week, the company released an update for Illuvium: Zero to fix some of the vulnerabilities in this new game.

The company further announced that it would release an update for Illuvium: Overworld. The latter is an open-world exploration game currently in the beta phase and is only open to a limited number of users.

The team noted, “Illuvium: Overworld will soon feature fully optimized plant physics, influenced not only by your movement but also by the wind. This will add new layers to the traversal experience. If you’re smart, maybe you can use it to your advantage.”

The Illuvium team is also growing its ecosystem will the release of Illuvitars. Illuvitars involve a collection of customized profile picture NFTs. The expansion of Illuvium into this space will leverage the offerings of the Binance ecosystem, the VRF technology supported by Chainlink, and the scaling solutions provided by ImmutableX.

Players will also compete on Illuvium: Beyond to collect the Illuvitars. The collection includes more than 150 NFTs that will feature graphic illustrations of Illuvials that come with various accessories, backgrounds, and expressions.

According to Illuvium, Illuvitars will be different from the other standard profile picture NFT projects released in the past. Unlike the other avatar collections with base layers, each base layer supported by Illuvitar will be unique and designed to promote digital self-expression. Collectors will also have a chance to customize each Illuvitar base using accessories that have a varying degrees of rarity.
