Everything About Curio Cards NFT

Curio Cards NFT was the first art nonfungible token powered by Ethereum. It is still going strong up to today. Since May 2017, seven artists joined efforts to develop the 30-card digital art collection that paved the way for a new generation of artists. Currently, the team seems to be actively working on different collaborations, together with the Curio DAO.

The Curio Cards NFT collection is an online art show. The 30 cards are fully referenced in the original ERC-721 Non-Fungible Token Standard, and even predating CryptoPunks. Due to their age, they require to be wrapped to have the needed capabilities to function on OpenSea, together with the other nonfungible token collections.

Apart from those that are available on OpenSea, some of the OG buyers will need to wrap their nonfungible tokens manually. That can be done via their in-house Curio Wrapper.

This collection exists today due to the relentless efforts of seven visionary artists many years ago. Every numbered series has unique artwork and a stationary supply of digital prints, which range in supply from 111 to 2K cards.

There are up to 29.7k cards, with an estimated 4k already lost or destroyed. Currently, the collection was set up in a manner that the 1% artist royalty will go wholly to the original artists. Sometime in 2021, Christy’s marketplace organized an auction for Curio Cards NFT. At this event, there was a set of 31 NFTs that were sold for 393 ETH.

Notably, that collection is today being stored in The Arctic World Archive, together with 21 terabytes of GitHub open-source code. To put all this into perspective, the archive is perfectly set up to last 1,000 years and is expected to hold the collections, together with other important data. If that is not impressive, nothing else will matter in this nascent space.

Even though the artists will not develop any new Curio Cards NFTs, the team is today actively working on several other collaborations. For example, MoonCats x Metakey Wearable has a total of 7.2k NFTs while MoonCats x Metakey Wearable has 7,200 NFTs. These are continuing partnerships with MoonCats, Metakey, and Pixel Map. All these products are Decentraland-ready, and the holders can claim only 2 each.

Curio DAO

At this point, the team has already gathered a variety of ideas for the DAO, also offering rewards for the members that contribute. Most notably, the Curio DAO strives to ripple their collective Web3 knowhow to others as the industry continues growing. That is not the only NFT project that has transitioned to creating their in-house DAO that represents the next frontier of work and community.

For now, the team uses a variety of tools to help in creating and setting up the Curio DAO. In that context, the Curio Cards NFT owners can participate via Discord and Twitter Spaces, boosting the brainstorming process. That is where the community members can propose a variety of ideas for their future direction. Afterward, they will use Coordinape to reward the DAO members whenever required.
