Ethereum Game Super Sushi Samurai Experiences $4.6 Million Hack

The team that created the Telegram-based game, Super Sushi Samurai, stated that it is teaming up with a White hat hacker. The purpose of this collaboration is to restore funds to users following a theft of $4.6 million because of an exploit.

The hacker breached the newly introduced Super Sushi Samurai game, which generated its tokens on the Blast network.

The Native Token Of The Game SSS Value Fell After The Hack

The worth of its native token, SSS, dropped to a minuscule fraction of a cent after the news of the hack. It took advantage of a token transfer flaw in the smart contract that controls the game

An anonymous Yuga Labs smart blockchain developer known as Coffee stated on X that the glitch enabled exploiters to increase their holdings.

Security company CertiK identified the exploit and posted on X that it was a white hat rescue. The white hat disclosures are made when a protocol is breached by a hacker to reveal to the project creators that there is a vulnerability. The honorable exploiter is often rewarded and granted permission to keep a portion of the acquired funds.

Hours after the hack, Super Sushi Samurai stated that the team was working diligently with the white hat to recover the stolen funds

Super Sushi Samurai Seeks To Revolutionize Gaming And Blockchain Integration

The team that powered the game did not provide an immediate answer to Decrypt’s questions. According to Cielo. Finance, a blockchain data tracker, and SSS tokens were snapped up following the hack.

Traders will frequently do this in case there is a return of price and funds from a white hat hacker, which could subsequently increase the token’s value.

Super Sushi Samurai is an uncomplicated “idle” game that functions on the instant messaging app Telegram, similar to the recent crypto gaming sensation, Notcoin.

Currently limited to players with access codes, Super Sushi Samurai provides a medium where players can control cartoonish warriors who engage in battles to earn token rewards. Additionally, there are NFT land plots that are involved in “megawar” clashes between clans.

It operates on the Blast, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling network designed to make it cheaper and quicker for individuals to carry out activities on the mainnet, which can sometimes be slow and costly.

Blasts recently introduced its mainnet on February 29 but had already encountered a notable technical hurdle last week when it briefly stopped block production after the Ethereum network’s Denton upgrade.
