Cosmic Champs to release the second season of 3D game-playable NFTs

Cosmic Champs, a real-time play-to-earn game on the Algorand blockchain, will release the second season of animated 3D game-playable NFTs. The game released its closed beta mobile game on December 5, 2022, and it currently has 2160 games and 273 unique users.

Cosmic Champs is set to release the second season of its GameFi NFTs on Algorand. The NFTs will be released on January 19. The co-founder and CTO of Cosmic Champs, Simon Belingar, said that the NFTs would boost functionality that will be unique to the platform.

“With the integration of these NFTs into the new 3D design of the game, players can expect an even more immersive and responsive gameplay experience. We believe our cutting-edge NFT technology sets us apart in the Algorand and wider blockchain gaming communities,” Belingar said.

The sale for the Season 2 NFTs will be made in two rounds. The private and public shuffle rounds will be hosted within the Cosmic Champs Algogems shop on January 19 from 11 am UTC. The private round NFTs will be sold at $20 worth of COSG, while the public round NFTs will be sold at $30 worth of COSG.

Those eligible for the private shuffle need to own a Season 1 NFT, hold a closed beta pass, hold COSG tokens, be part of the Cosmic Quests Crew3 leaderboard, or win one of the community giveaways promoted by Cosmic Champs.

COSG token is still strong despite the bear market

The CEO and co-founder of Cosmic Champs, Matty Blanchard, said that the platform benefited from the community’s support despite the challenges faced over the past year. Besides the game development efforts, Cosmic Champs’ governance token, Cosmic Gold (COSG), has held a solid relative value to ALGO.

The COSG token supports a variety of games under development, the sale of NFT, and a robust creator economy. The token enables holders to be part of staking pools on the premier decentralized finance staking solution in Algorand, Cometa. COSG token holders can also participate in governance reward programs.

2022 was marked by one of the worst market downturns in crypto history. Despite the bearish outlook, COSG has emerged as one of the top three projects on Algorand by total value locked.

Blanchard noted that COSG has robust tokenomics, which could easily qualify as “one of the best in blockchain gaming.” He added that the company had made improvements to ensure its governance token achieves long-term utility. The token can be used to access NFT lotteries, in-game boosts, and future access to purchase planet NFTs land.
