Carbonated Launches MadWorld Early Access And Concludes Latest Funding Round

Gaming studio Carbonated Inc. has revealed the MadWorld early access launch for Android and iOS devices. The studio also announced its latest Series A round of funding, raising $11 million.

Com2us, a gaming giant in South Korea, led the latest funding round. Other prominent firms also contributed, including Bitkraft Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Blocore, Cypher Capital, WAGMI Ventures, and Goal Ventures.

Carbonated Inc. was established in 2015 by gaming industry experts from companies like Electronic Arts and PlayStation. The studio earlier raised $8.5 million in 2020, which also saw the contribution of both Bitkraft and Andreessen.

MadWorld Offers Competitive Shooting Gameplay To Gamers

MadWorld, the highly anticipated video game will launch soon and it’s expected to be publicized this year. The game combines territory control gameplay based on assets and non-fungible tokens together with competitive shooting gameplay. It plays out in a post-apocalyptic form of Earth after six months of an ominous event titled “The Collapse.” It has set the stage for an epic battle for survival.

Gamers can keep, trade, and upgrade tokenized editions of real-world settings on a hex grid having more than 250,000 plots of land. Each area of land in MadWorld is equipped with the available resources and other prospective benefits.

Furthermore, if any group in the game plans to battle while utilizing the unique perks in those plot lands, they’ll have to acknowledge and pay tribute to the landowner. Tribute can be given in “Rounds” as an in-game currency that will surely become an on-chain cryptocurrency. This endeavor will drive a tokenized economy.

Travis Boatman Advises NFT Land Owners On How To Grow Tribute

The chief executive officer of Carbonated Inc., Travis Boatman, stated that to maintain and grow tribute benefits, land owners are free to deploy Rounds into their lands. Rounds can be changed to the upcoming on-chain token, which is awaiting early access feedback from gamers.

Boatman is an experienced personnel in the gaming industry. He previously had executive roles at Electronic Arts and Zynga. He assisted in overseeing the major success of games such as The Simpsons: Tapped Out, Words With Friends, and Zynga Poker.

Furthermore, Boatman mentioned that regulations are the real deal to help customers avoid exploitative and improvised practices. These practices are usually seen a few days after the launch of free-to-play mobile games on the Apple Store. It’s now up to game developers to operate within these standards.

MadWorld is divided into various levels representing several parts of Jefferson Island. Gamers can progress through these levels sequentially. After the first playthrough, players can always come back to their previous levels and try to score higher points.
