Adidas Teams Up With Stepn To Launch $2,500 Solana NFT Sneakers

Giant sportswear brand Adidas has announced a strategic partnership with Stepn, a Move-to-earn game. The purpose of this alliance is to add Solana Non Fungible Token sneakers from the brand to the fitness-centric game

The Stepn x Adidas Genesis Sneakers selection is the inaugural offering in a series of “co-branded projects” between the two firms. In a year-long collaboration, the partnership will witness more NFT releases along with physical items.

An Additional 790 NFTs Will Be Available In A Public Lottery Event

The Chief Executive Officer of Stepn, Shiti Manghani stated that the partnership between Adidas and Stepn shows the power of moving and earning in both the real and virtual world at the same time.

He added that the existence of a digital and physical—or ‘phygital’—collaboration between the most renowned lifestyle application and an international brand like Adidas suggests the path lifestyle rewards are heading. Sneakers will be valued at 10,000 GMT (Stepn’s proprietary token) which is around $2,500.

Featured on Stepn creator FSL’s NFT marketplace known as MOOAR, the initial 200 Genesis Sneaker NFTs are set to be released tomorrow, April 17. The allowlist spot criteria will be disclosed in a tweet on X by Stepn’s verified account.

An additional 790 NFTs will be available in a public lottery event occurring from April 18-21, with prize winners announced every 24 hours. The last 10 NFTs will be utilized for marketing activities, as stated by a representative.

Stepn is a fitness application that allows players to earn rewards while engaging in exercises. A digital sneaker NFT is required to start earning cryptocurrency rewards through running, jogging, or walking.

Additional Energy Is Granted Based On The Quality Level Of The Sneaker

The amount an individual can receive on the application is determined by their sneaker’s intensity level. The lesser a user’s intensity level, the fewer minutes they can move and earn. Each energy unit is equivalent to five minutes of running, with additional energy granted based on its level of quality. For example, iconic sneakers provide +4 energy.

There is no current information available about the energy level of Stepn x Adidas Genesis Sneakers. Therefore, runners will need to wait and observe the competitive benefits they give.

The announcement comes after Stepn’s $30 million airdrop program that ended last week, where players were offered airdrop points that were exchangeable at a 1:1 ratio for Stepn’s proprietary GMT token. More than 100 million airdrop tokens were given to Genesis and badge NFT holders.
