Filmmaker David Ayer to create “Lollipop” NFT game on Polygon

Feature.io, an entertainment studio based in Los Angeles, has announced plans to create Lollipop. The latter is an interactive Web3 multimedia car racing experience written by David Ayer. Ayer is the co-writer of “The Fast and Furious” and wore and directed “Suicide Squad.”

Filmmaker to create “Lollipop” NFT game

Ayer is the writer and the executive producer of the Lollipop NFT car racing game. The game’s development team also includes other key players in the film industry. Chris Long is the producer of “The Tax Collector, ” a film that Ayer has also directed. Long is also working on the Lollipop game.

The Lollipop NFT game will be created on Polygon, an Ethereum layer-two scaling network. Ayer and Long work as executives under the Ayer production firm Cedar Park Studios, and they will be collaborating to release this NFT game.

The details about this NFT game are minimal. The Lollipop NFT fame will comprise non-fungible tokens (NFTs) created on the Polygon network. The founder and the CEO of Feature.io, Steven Ilous, refers to NFTs as digital collectibles because of the negative sentiments around this acronym.

Ilous said that the company does not use the title NFTs. However, these digital assets can be classified as digital collectibles because they provide a streaming narrative feature. Moreover, this platform also provides a gamification feature that supports NFT games.

Ilous said that he was the brains behind the Lollipop NFT gaming concept. He later pitched this idea to Ayer, and according to him, Ilous was a fan of this technology. He noted that the concept of NFTs pioneered the future experiences and what they could be, adding that Ayer understood what was needed right away.

Lollipop NFT game to include multiple elements

Feature.io has not promoted Lollipop solely as a video game. Instead, the game will provide an “interactive media experience.” This project will also integrate multiple features, such as episodic streaming, gaming, and professional sports, according to a statement shared by the company.

The vague details about this NFT game have not shared enough about what the community should expect. Moreover, there is no certainty about the players’ experience in this game. According to Ilous, this NFT game has been created to grab the audience’s interest. This will be achieved using a hybrid media approach.

Ilous also said that the game wanted to create the next generation to depict how audiences consume content. This game would support the needs of new audiences that were more focused on tech-savvy offerings.

The executives have not clarified how Lollipop will leverage the NFTs that the company has adopted. The President of Polygon Labs, Ryan Wyatt, commented that this project was “truly pioneering.”

Wyatt further said that Feature was currently leading the future of the storytelling industry, and the platform was also using the Polygon blockchain to generate a new type of media that would support the platform.
