Degen Zoo NFT game might have suffered a security breach

Degen Zoo, a non-fungible token (NFT) game by DAOMaker, might have suffered a security breach. The controversial CryptoZoo game by Logan Paul inspires the NFT game. The team behind Degen Zoo has since halted the game as they launch investigations into the hacking incident.

Degen Zoo NFT game suffers security breach

The concerns around a security breach at Degen Zoo were raised after a suspicious wallet address burned $58,000 worth of tokens. The investigations conducted by the founding team so far show that there is no concerning evidence showing this breach, adding that they were still evaluating the situation.

The Degen Zoo community has expressed concerns over the matter, with the gaming community concerned about whether hackers had taken over the platform. The reports around this possible breach happened around two days ago after a wallet address burned over 1.5 million DZOO tokens. DZOO is the native token for Degen Zoo.

It is the first time the game has suffered a potential breach, triggering concern from players and collectors. The DAOMaker founding team issued a statement shortly after the concerns were raised, saying it had halted the game for the community’s safety.

The team wrote a message on Telegram explaining the issue, saying they were investigating the matter. The message said that the team has been investigating the possibility of this exploit, adding that it did not find anything.

The team later released an update saying that unusual transactions had created jitters in the community and led to the game being halted to stop the FUD and to investigate. The team said that it detected that it could have integrated proxy contracts to make this code upgradable.

The team also proposed a vote. One of the votes was for the community to agree that the game be halted again in the future and be redeployed again if a security breach were to happen in the future. The second vote included adding proxy contracts to the important smart contracts to allow the team to change the contracts without starting the game again.

Degen Zoo NFT game

Degen Zoo is a charity NFT game that DAOMaker released. The game supports the burning of NFTs representing digitally endangered animal species. These animal species are the main Play-to-Earn mechanism for the game.

The Degen Zoo NFT game is powered by its native token, DZOO. The platform also offers to stake features enabling players to earn digital eggs. The mechanism behind this game mimics the one of CryptoZoo, an NFT game released by Logan Paul.

The creator of Degen Zoo, Cristoph Zaknum, has long criticized Logan Paul. Zaknum launched Degen Zoo to compete against CryptoZoo. The game garnered much interest and raised over $700 million from more than 115 unique digital wallets.

On the other hand, the CryptoZoo game has been criticized, with Logan Paul being accused of a rug pull. The community accused Paul of failing to progress with the game’s development after raising money from interested players.
