Coinbase Wallet introduces quests on Optimism

Coinbase Wallet has launched its first quest on the Optimism scaling network. Those who participate in these quests can earn onchain cryptocurrencies when they learn about Web3. Participants will also be tasked with delegating, staking, and swapping.

Coinbase launches quests on Optimism

The Coinbase exchange, in partnership with Optimism, has launched this program. It is the first-of-a-kind program by Coinbase wallet. The quests that will be available on the wallet will allow users to earn crypto when they complete given tasks.

The quests available for Optimism users will include completing tasks such as learning how to delegate, stake, and swap. When these users have finalized these tasks, they will receive rewards in the OP token that will be deposited in their Coinbase wallets.

“Similar to other learn to earn programs, quests on Coinbase Wallet are a designed experience that walks you through some of the many things you can do on Optimism,” the announcement said.

These quests will only be available to mobile device users using the Coinbase wallet. The rewards will also be earned on a first-come, first-served basis, depleting the OP rewards quickly. Therefore, the users who have the best chance of winning these rewards are the ones that enter the program early.

The first quest that is available on the Coinbase wallet is where users swap their Ether tokens to USD Coin (USDC), DAI, Tether (USDT), and wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) through the Optimism network. However, the availability of this quest to users might be limited to some countries.

Those interested in participating in these quests must download the Coinbase wallet and deposit ETH to these wallets through the Optimism network. Afterward, the user can explore the available quests through the “Wallet Quests” icon in the asset navigation menu.

Growth of the Optimism network

The optimism network is seeing notable adoption, and it is not the first time that Coinbase is announcing a partnership with the scaling network. Towards the end of last month, Coinbase announced the release of a layer two network known as Base through Optimism.

In the announcement, Coinbase said that Base would use the Optimism OP Stack to make it attractive to many new crypto users. The Base layer two network aims to offer easy and secure access to layer two networks like Optimism and other blockchains such as Solana.

Besides Coinbase, the other major crypto player that has partnered with Optimism is Alchemy. Alchemy’s Webhook supports the Optimism network by allowing users to track all the NFT activity on the layer two network. When an NFT transfer happens on Optimism that a user might be interested in, they will receive a notification in their inbox.

Digital wallet provider MetaMask is also tapping into the potential of Optimism. MetaMask announced it would add support for Optimism and Arbitrum. The two are scaling solutions on Ethereum. They are rapidly gaining adoption from developers who want to create their decentralized applications (DApps) more quickly while leveraging the security offered by the Ethereum blockchain.
