Untamed Planet secures $24.3M for nature-focused NFT games

The non-fungible token (NFT) gaming sector has become increasingly popular, and platforms offering services related to the sector have been looking into ways to remain unique. Untamed Planet focuses on uniqueness by creating games related to nature.

Untamed Planet recently announced a $24.3 million funding to support the creation of 3D immersive blockchain games. These games focus on the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Untamed Planet secures $24.3M funding

The $24.3 million funding round into Untamed Plant was led by Animoca Brands. Animoca has made strategic investments and deals related to the metaverse, NFT and blockchain sectors. Currently, Animoca has over 200 investments related to blockchain.

Untamed Planet is a gaming company released in 2020 to protect wildlife. A partnership between Animoca Brands and Untamed Planet will create and publish Untamed Metaverse, a soon-to-be-launched game that will support efforts to conserve nature.

Before this funding round, Untamed Planet had secured seed funding from the co-founder of Afterpay, Nick Molnar. This funding was geared towards supporting Untamed Metaverse’s development, an immersive metaverse experience created in partnership with Animoca Brands.

Untamed metaverse is a digital world that allows players to explore some of the most iconic landscapes on the Planet. It also allows visitors to the digital world to engage in quests, collect NFTs and create communities committed to preserving nature and are directly involved in nature conservation efforts.

Untamed Planet has shown commitment to bringing a digital experience into the wildlife sector. It plans to create fun and build nature-based experiences for the visitors of this metaverse. It will boost engagement for users within the ecosystem and allow them to be part of the conservation efforts in the real world.

Untamed Planet integrated Web3 technology to create a sustainable source of donations for nature because it allows them to access play-to-earn and play-to-protect opportunities for community members on Untamed Planet.

The main conservation partner for Untamed Planet is WildArk. WildArk is a non-profit organization that works alongside other global organizations to support the communities spearheading environmental conservation efforts. The platform works to ensure wildlife space is secured and biodiversity is upheld.

Scott Brandy, the studio head at Untamed Planet, commented on this development, saying, “What excited me about the Untamed Planet mission is the opportunity to merge mainstream gaming with the new prospects that Web3 enables for digital ownership by players in order to derive real-world conservation – this project is epic. Environmental conservation efforts in the metaverse

The cryptocurrency and NFT spaces have been criticized for their effects on the environment. The latest move by Untamed Planet to spearhead conservation efforts in the metaverse using NFTs is therefore unique.

Untamed Planet will be minting its NFTs on the Solana blockchain that runs on a proof-of-stake consensus. PoS is considered more energy-efficient, and this move adds to the efforts of the project to preserve the environment.
