The Weirdos Are The Weirdest NFT Collection

In case the colorful, off-kilter NFTs are your style of interest, then The Weirdos NFT collection is your perfect solution. The collection of almost 10,000 distinct cartoon characters with some hand-drawn traits is the core of the attention-grabbing, creative, and artist-driven project.

The Weirdos NFT Collection Overview

The NFT collection is a generative art collection of 9,272 weird and wonderful NFT characters. The stylistic NFTs come with hand-drawn traits. On the project’s official website, it is described as:

“A nostalgic, adult-themed universe where your NFT unlocks varying and exclusive levels of access, utility and weirdness.”

The Weirdos NFT Project

The creative force behind The Weirdos is the award-winning illustrator and motion designer called Ghostbreath. This artist has been in the NFT world since early 2021, minting a variety of nonfungible tokens before starting on The Weirdos NFT collection.

This particular collection of art integrates Ghostbreath’s love of cartoons, comics, animation, collectibles, and pop culture in general. Just like the name suggests, the collection are committed to developing a world that is filled with playful and unconventional characters.

Contrary to a majority of the NFT collections of this nature, the Weirdos first came up as 412 hand-drawn, 1-of-1 characters across 3 series. Eventually, the team behind The Weirdos decided to build out their community gradually using the smaller drops before launching their full collection to the world.

Notably, The Weirdos have a distinctive and unique art style.

The 9,272 Clones Of The Weirdoverse

As stated previously, The Weirdos started with 412 1-of-1s. Those are what the project refers to as the “OG Weirdos”. On the flip side, the 9,272 NFTs that form the main Weirdos collection are ‘clones’ of the OG Weirdos.

Furthermore, the collection can be divided further into 14 distinct sub-collections. Currently, there are seven Weirdo factions and seven State factions. Notably, The NFT collection launched with its presale on April 19, and a public sale followed on April 20.

The mint price was 0.09272 ETH for both sales. By the end of April, the project had a floor price of 0.025 ETH, with a cumulative trade volume of 468 ETH, and 3.71K holders.

These factions, together with the clone aspect in general, represent the narrative-driven strategy the project have adopted in the development of their collection. To be sure, The Weirdos are in the early stages of piecing together its full lore and story. After all, the project is less than a month beyond its mint.

In that context, The Weirdos project has many nods to the deepening story in its Discord, and in the roadmap on its official website. This roadmap suggests that there will be future drops and a continuous story-building process.

THE WEIRDOS

What Is Rat Milk?

One of the most notable elements of The Weirdos NFT experience is something that the project refers to as Rat Milk. Apart from the comical and somewhat perplexing mental images that it carries, Rat Milk is importantly the token of The Weirdos’ ecosystem.

Before the mint, hopeful buyers had to amass Rat Milk to gain access to the project’s presale. Notably, Rat Milk will play an integral role in the project going forward. But for now, there are several ways to get it:

  • Competing against other Weirdos in Community Games on Discord
  • Validating your wallet within their Discord server
  • “Doing weird and cool shiz” just like what the team says. The server mods will then reward all active community members with Rat Milk
  • Through Rat Milk raffle contests hosted in the Discord

With everything taken into consideration, the weird and wonderful NFT collection has a lot of character and a solid community. You can check The Weirdos on Twitter and Discord for more details.
