The Quirkies NFT collection consists of just 5,000 quirky creatures and 2,200 owners. However, the collection is made up of a strong community. At the time of publication, the collection has a 2.169 ETH floor price, with a trading volume of 11,400 ETH. Furthermore, apart from the PFPs, the team has some long-term metaverse plans aiming to celebrate everyone’s quirks.

Since the latest mint that happened in February 2022, the Quirkies NFT collection has experienced a peak of over 6 ETH per NFT. Nonetheless, it seems to have taken a back seat for now. Notably, the slowdown can be attributed mainly to the bearish sentiment that is flooding the whole NFT market.

The Quirkies NFT collection comprises hundreds of traits to enable every owner to find one that reflects their real self. This enables the owners to have more of a strong bond with their digital creatures. In case you cannot decide on which one best reflects your personality, nothing stops you from getting another one.

Developers plan to have just 5,000 Quirkies not adding anymore aside from their companions. In February, the cost to mint your Quirkie was 0.05 ETH. Comparing it to the current floor price, it is a pretty sweet deal. The first mint allowed 2 mints per whitelist spot and 5 mints per account during the public sale.

Thus, the pool of owners has been kept significantly small. It is still not clear whether the team wants to expand the pool in the future. The project has several key members, but the website does not show their identities directly. These are FinchOne, Space Invader, Syntribos, Soulest, and Quacamole.

Most of them seem to have been dabbling in the cryptocurrency and NFT space for several years, having a massively collective experience. The team comprises early crypto and NFT investors, well-known artists, marketing experts, and of course the team of developers. So far, it appears like the team is doing quite well, mainly in building the close-knot community.

Going forward, the team now plans to build their in-house metaverse where the Quirkies NFTs can flex their powers. Meanwhile, the team aims to work towards bringing the creatures into the existing metaverses. Notably, there will also be Quirkies merchandise, including streetwear that integrates surfing and skating components.

Moreover, the NFTs represent IRL memberships that grant access to different events and exclusive experiences throughout the world. Lastly, the developers will give every creature its own companion.

Are There Quirklings?

Apart from the cool teaser, there is not a lot of information that is known about the ‘Quirklings’ project. Nevertheless, we know that one of the primary milestones on the roadmap is to give every creature a companion. There will be a snapshot. Thus, it might be safe to assume that the companion release will be through an airdrop.

But, there is no exact date, and the team is now encouraging you to keep a Quirkies NFT by your side at all times, just in case. If BAYC’s BACK or Azuki’s BEANZ is any indication, the Quirkling may be worth looking out for.
