Norman Rockwell Museum Unveils Its First NFT Collection

Norman Rockwell Museum and the Norman Rockwell Family have announced a multi-part series backed by non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The series will allow collectors to own multiple digital and physical pieces created by the late artist.

Some items listed in the collection include several images that have not been published before. It also comprises process works from the archives of Norman Rockwell, which significantly affect the arts industry.

Norman Rockwell Museum Debuts An NFT Collection

The multi-part series released by the museum is known as “Studio Sessions: The Norman Rockwell Collection.” The series marks the Rockwell brand’s first venture into NFTs.

The NFT was created in partnership with the Iconic digital platform. The platform allows traditional art platforms to explore emerging technologies and embrace innovativeness.

Rockwell is the second major brand to work with Iconic on NFTs. Earlier this year, it partnered with the Jackson Pollock Studio to launch a similar NFT collection on the Ethereum blockchain.

The Director of the Rockwell Museum, Norton Moffatt, commented on the development, saying, “We see our entry into the world of digital editions as a new way to carry forward and deepen our crucial work to preserve, present, and champion Norman Rockwell and illustration art. This project advances our commitment to meaningful and artistically rich innovation.”

 “Studio Sessions” NFTs

The “Studio Sessions” NFTs will go live on November 1 on the Iconic website. However, the platform has not provided extensive details on the pieces that will be part of the collection. Interested buyers can acquire these NFTs using a credit card or Ether. The price at which the NFTs will be sold has also not been confirmed.

Proceeds from the sale of these NFTs will support Norman Rockwell Museum’s missions. It will also ensure the public can access the artists’ works while supporting a new generation of creators.

The NFTs will also add to the work and legacy of Norman Rockwell. Before his death, Rockwell was an American painter whose work garnered massive popularity. Therefore, these NFTs will have significant value.

The “Studio Sessions” NFTs will take peeks at the inspiration behind each of Rockwell’s paintings. Each “Session” will focus on a specific popular Rockwell painting. Each NFT that makes up this collection will also include a matching, limited-edition print that is museum-quality.
