Immutable releases a Web3 onboarding solution, Passport

Immutable has released a Web3 onboarding solution known as Passport. This platform will provide non-custodial wallet services. It will have an authentication tool where users will receive access to blockchain gaming platforms and marketplaces using login details that do not require passwords.

Immutable announces the release of Passport

Passport is a non-custodial storage solution that will not maintain access to a user’s private keys. This will make the wallet easy to use by mainstream audiences because of the seamless authentication process across different platforms. Immutable Passport will also offer a high level of security while protecting the investors from fraud.

Immutable Passport is a tool that will also allow players to generate their Web3 identities. These identities can be used across different platforms. Immutable said that Passport had been created to address the challenges in the Web3 gaming sector. While the Web3 gaming industry has achieved significant growth over the years, Immutable said that the current wallet providers did not address the present challenges.

The product marketing lead at Immutable, Michael Powell, commented on this development saying that Passport was coming up with a solution that offered seamless access across different platforms. The requirements of current wallet providers required consent for each transaction, which was a significant hindrance to the growth in the number of gamers within the Web3 industry.

“Passport enables users to easily access funds and make transactions without leaving the game, all while protecting them through smart heuristics, 2FA approvals, and user-controlled spend limits,” Powell said. He added that the challenge of using other wallets across different platforms led to Web3 games having to transfer their blockchain from the core gameplay.

Gamers set to benefit from Immutable’s offerings

Gamers that choose to use Passport will enjoy a wide range of benefits supported by the platform.  They will obtain access to a gaming experience supported by the suite of products promoted by Immutable. Immutable Passport is a platform that will allow the player to have one identity when using their crypto assets across different gaming platforms. The President and co-founder of Immutable, Robbie Ferguson, noted that the release of Passport aligned with the company’s goals. Ferguson opined that the Web3 gaming industry could only attract more players if there was more security and less friction.

Through Immutable Passport, users can log in using their email addresses and a one-time password. Gamers will have a single identity across different platforms, with the authentication capabilities currently supported by the platform being unique in the Web3 gaming sector. Immutable also said that it was working with its partners to realize the potential of Passport.
