Gala Games Announces The Launch Of An Exciting Web3 Poker Platform

GameFi project has got its users reeling in excitement after announcing a new web3 social poker game in partnership with Las Vegas-based poker streaming platform PokerGo. The founder of Gala Games, while speaking about the partnership, stated that the new project will be highly exciting for players. “Players will soon realize the heightened entertainment that comes with playing poker in an immersive Web3 environment,” he stated. The project was launched on Monday, May 22.

Users Can Enhance Their Games On The New Platform

The PokerGo platform will allow users to easily improve their game skills and upgrade players, as well as redeem real-world prizes. The PokerGo is set for beta testing next month, and the complete release is expected to be available later this year.

This launch comes a year after PokerGo released its 1,326 Genesis nonfungible tokens (NFTs) collection. It has about 52 Ether in total volume traded with a floor price of 0.1 ETH. The collection represents all of the starting hand combinations in Texas Hold’em. Last year, the NFT holder’s perks included opportunities to win merchandise, memorabilia, and chances for cash earnings.

Also, within the game, PokerGo Genesis NFT holders will gain beneficial status as the two parties are planning to host special events within the PokerGo Studio in Las Vegas.

More Poker Platforms Are Joining The Web3 Space As The Industry Expands

Gala is credited with the development of several Ethereum-related play-to-earn blockchain games. The Gala developers announced a few days ago that it has already burned more than 21 billion Gala tokens, which are worth about $640 million. This came after Gala’s protocol v2 airdrop. Other online poker platforms are also embracing decentralized gaming systems. In December 2021, the online decentralized Ethereum poker platform Virtual Gaming set up a digital poker casino that uses a play-to-earn model and crypto assets. Poker celebrity and World Poker Tour champion Phil Ivey supports the platform.

But in November last year, the Gala Games token bridge was the victim of a minting attack, which extracted about $4.5 million worth of tokens from its liquidity pool. At the moment, the project is in the heat of a $28 million litigation battle with cross-chain interoperability bridge pNetwork for the role it played in the incident. The network is used by BNB Smart Chain and Gala Games.

PokerGo Genesis NFT holders will also be given beneficial status within the game, as both parties are looking to host special events for all participants. PokerGo’s Chief Revenue Officer, Richard Blankenship, commented on the development. He noted that Gala Games’ cutting-edge web3 development combined with PokerGo’s extensive experience in poker entertainment is a perfect marriage. Both platforms will use their experience to build a superior social poker game that everyone will love.
