Digital Game Vendor G2A Launches An NFT Marketplace For Web3 Games

G2A, a digital game vendor, has unveiled a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The NFTs supported in this marketplace are linked to Web3 games and seek to expand the available offerings by integrating gaming NFTs into the vast collection of gaming software.

This NFT marketplace seeks to expose gamers to the Web3 and NFT games the G2A team is developing. Through this offering, gamers will have a chance to pursue the offerings of blockchain gaming and access NFTs from the games released in partnership with G2A.

G2A Releases G2A Geekverse NFT Marketplace

The NFT marketplace launched through this offering is known as the G2A Geekverse. The CEO of the G2A Capital Group, Bartosz Skwarczek, said the company has been following developments across the blockchain gaming industry closely since the release of the Cryptokitties NFT gaming project.

He noted that by following these developments, it discovered gamers interacted with the sector despite some criticizing the integration of cryptocurrencies into gaming projects. Some traditional gamers have in the past said that NFTs and crypto erode the values of gaming.

“It turned out that players are quite familiar with the blockchain gaming industry, and a significant portion of them already play Web3 games and have even engaged in NFT trading from games,” Skwarczek said.

The game vendor has launched G2A Geekverse to offer an online space targeting Web3 gaming fans. Skwarczek also noted that in the gaming industry, players will secure information about finding the best Web3 games. They will also be able to trade digital assets linked to these games.

Traditional Game Developers Venture Into Web3

Traditional gaming distributors have supported Web3 gaming offerings since the start of the year. Mid this year, Google announced support for NFT games, albeit with some limitations. The tech giant said it would support games supporting NFTs for sale or to earn. However, it noted gambling with NFTs is not permitted.

The Epic Games Store has also shown its support towards Web3 gaming. On June 22, Epic Games Store listed Gods Unchained, an NFT collectible trading card game offering a similar gaming experience with leading titles such as Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone.

The Epic Games Store is set to list more blockchain-based games. It will launch the Illuvium game on the marketplace on November 28 to support and grow its offerings.
