CryptoBlades wins the seventh round of the Cronos Ecosystem Grants

CryptoBlades, a play-to-earn gaming project, emerged as the winner of a Cronos Ecosystem Grant. Besides winning this reward, the project will expand to the Cronos ecosystem during the second quarter of 2023.

CryptoBlades wins Cronos ecosystem grant

The Cronos EVM-compatible blockchain recently completed the seventh round of the Cronos Ecosystem Grants. This round featured six games, such as CryptoBlades and Ryoshi Tales from the Ebisu Bay non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, according to an announcement by the company.

“One key criterion of the grants was that projects had to build innovative products, especially within an underserved vertical within Cronos. For this seventh batch of Cronos Ecosystem Grant, we received a total of 250 applications and have narrowed it down to projects,” the announcement said.

The company also noted that CryptoBlades had won this granny alongside other projects such as Ryoshi, Atlantis by Argo Protocol, Kingdom Karnage, Sky Bandit, and Revomon. The six projects are set to benefit immensely from this grant.

The Cronos Ecosystem Grants program seeks to support early-stage projects on the Cronos network. It bootstraps the initial product development for the projects and gives them monetary and technical support. According to the project, the goal was to incentivize new builders and teams to support the growth of projects within the broader ecosystem.

Cronos is an EVM-compatible layer one blockchain network created on the Cosmos SDK. The network is focused on creating an open ecosystem where developers can create DeFi and GameFi applications that target more than 80 million users globally. Cronos Labs launched a $100M Accelerator Program earlier this year to help developers create new projects.

When developers create projects on Cronos, they use Ethereum developer tools and access top crypto wallets and wrapped versions of the largest cryptocurrencies in the market. Developers on Cronos also access Cronos Play, which offers a suite of developer tools that boost connectivity within the Cosmos chain to create a rich and interoperable ecosystem.

CryptoBlades launches on its 10th blockchain

Cronos will become the 10th blockchain network that supports CryptoBlades. The project also runs on top blockchain networks such as BNB Chain, Polygon Avalanche, OEC, HECO, Aurora, Coinex, Meter, and SKALE. Data from DappRadar shows that CryptoBlades is one of the top 20 games with the highest number of users on the BNB Chain.

CryptoBlades is an NFT roleplaying game that is web-based. The game was initially launched on the BNB Chain. Similar to other NFT gaming platforms, CryptoBlades is powered by its native token known as SKILL. The token is used to issue in-game rewards to game participants.

CryptoBlades is uniquely positioned to achieve growth in the future. The game is supported by some of the top names in the crypto sector, such as Binance, IGN, and other top companies. The project also emerged as the Binance Most Valuable Builder 11 program winner.

Besides the players earning SKILL tokens, they also get to create unique weapons that can be traded as NFTs on an NFT marketplace. The players also have a chance to stake earnings and generate more SKILL rewards. ‍
