Blankos Block Party becomes the first NFT game on Epic Games

Blankos Block Party, some internet creation video game operated by NFT, debuted today just on Epic Games Store, making it the first Web3 game to be posted on the famous PC gaming global market.

After starting with an accessible beta last December, Mythical Games’ video game was initially obtainable via its webpage. Last June, the business said Blankos had already accumulated over one million overall customers.

The production company announced its intention last June to introduce the free-to-play game to the Epic Games Store in 2022; it was uncertain whether it’d be the first video game of its kind to hit the platform. Gala Games initially confirmed that its Western-themed sniper Grit was to be the system’s first Web3 video game, although it is currently unavailable.

Blankos Block Party, influenced by creator toy heritage, allows users to interact and cooperate in a vibrantly colored virtual environment. In the video game, NFTs are employed to portray unique items, such as avatar creations and gadgets, that may be purchased and sold via the video game’s market system.

Since its release, the video game has collaborated with many product lines and artist collaborators for limited-edition releases, like Atari, Burberry, and music producer Deadmau5. The video game, nevertheless, does not necessitate the possession of NFTs. An NFT is just a blockchain symbol that symbolizes ownership of a product, such as characters, weapons, or virtual territory in video games.

Epic Games Store had over 194 million customers by the end of last year. They have approached Web3 gaming differently than its primary opponent, Valve’s Steam e-commerce platform. Valve announced last season that designers would be unable to publish video games on the Steam platform that employed NFTs or virtual currencies in every way.

In reply, Epic Games CEO and founder Tim Sweeney Twitter that although the production company, which owns the breakout hit Fortnite, did not intend to use NFTs and Web3 technology, it would permit other makers to do so if they followed relevant legislation and marketplace standards.

The game is still in its early stage.

The CEO stated that the Epic Games Store could accept games that employ blockchain technology as long as they follow applicable laws, divulge their conditions, and thus are age-rated from an appropriate collective. Though Epic does not use cryptocurrency in its video games, they welcome technological and financial innovation.

The edition of Blankos Block Party released recently on Epic Games Store seems equivalent to the model available on the video game’s official site. Both are accessible in an initial unlock phase, with the complete version launching across systems on the 28th of September with extra content.

The producer’s Mythical Platform has powered Blankos Block Party, which is based mainly on EOS.IO public blockchain but includes a connection to Ethereum, the pioneering NFT system. Mythical is also working on various other video games, such as the certified NFL Rivals, but also brought up $150M last November at a $1.25B valuation.
