Axie Infinity seeks to remain competitive with the “Seas the Day” contest

Axie Infinity is one of the largest non-fungible token (NFT) metaverse games globally. The company has announced the launch of a new contest known as “Seas The Day.” The contest seeks to boost the project’s competitiveness in a fast-evolving industry.

Axie Infinity launches “Seas The Day” contest

Axie Infinity exploded in popularity in 2020 and emerged as the top play-to-earn gaming platform in the Web3 industry. However, the gaming platform has been under pressure from increased competition in the industry. New P2E gaming platforms have entered the market and seek to improve on the offerings currently promoted by OpenSea.

OpenSea is now looking toward reclaiming its dominance in the industry. The platform has announced the release of the “Seas the Day” contest that will run until March 6. The Axie Infinity: Origins players will have a chance to use their Aqua Axies to complete some quests to win exclusive prizes.

The contest is open to those who own several Aqua Axies. The players can use these items to win battles within the contest. The players can also generate Aqua class charms and purchase and release new collections, among many other things. The contest will also allow the players to win major prizes from exclusive rewards such as cosmetic borders, stickers, avatars, and moon shards.

The players of this game will also have fun playing as the contest is created around one of the unique gaming experiences. The players are also allowed to claim their milestones before this event ends on March 6.

Axie Infinity plans to become more aggressive with crypto

A recent report by Bloomberg said that Axie Infinity was planning to become more aggressive with crypto tokens earned by its players this year. The blockchain gaming platform said that despite the challenging year that has passed, the play-to-earning model was here to stay.

The co-founder of Sky Mavis, Aleksander Leonard Larsen, said the company needed more tokens and more products in terms of experiments. The release of the “Seas of the Day” contest could be among the products and services that the product is planning to release.

While Axie Infinity was one of the early entrants in the P2E market, the platform has faced competition from new P2E platforms that are putting up more competition. Moreover, funding into Web3 gaming has not slowed despite the bear market that rocked the industry for most of 2022.

Axie Infinity suffered a major blow following a breach on the Ronin Bridge early last year. The breach led to a loss of over $600 million, and it was one of the largest hacking attacks in the sector.

The breach raised concerns about the security measures that Axie Infinity has taken to guarantee that its gaming ecosystem is secure and cannot be targeted by hackers. However, Sky Mavis managed to raise money from some players in the crypto industry.
